The Financial Accountant I, under direction, performs entry-level professional accounting tasks at a University level within Division of Finance and Administration.Â
Reconciles third party contract accounts and student receivables on a monthly basis.
Reconciles various state and local accounts, payroll clearing accounts and various quarterly reconciliations due to the state.
Assist in gathering information for audits.
Maintains Fixed Asset System (FFX). Approves new assets and reconciles fixed assets monthly.
Develops processes and procedures to ensure compliance with State and System policies and procedures related to asset management.
Works with Procurement and Inventory Control Coordinator on the annual physical inventory of controlled and capital assets.
Assists in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report (AFR) and other various annual reports pertinent to the AFR.
Assists in gathering information for financial reports for the state, the A&M System, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and the federal government.
Assures compliance with standards, policies and procedures.

Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Accounting experience in a business office preferred.
Accounting experience in a University setting preferred.
