JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION Under the general supervision of the Senior Vice President of Finance, the Senior Director of Accounting will assist with the management and functionality of the Finance Department in support of the mission of the 12th Man Foundation. In addition, the Senior Director of Accounting is responsible for the oversight and management of the Manager of Accounting and Accounting Intern.

- Consult with the SVP of Finance to establish and monitor financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems
- Participate in the development and support of the foundation’s strategic and tactical plans
- Support SVP of Finance:
preparation of annual audit and tax return monthly financial report runs, data analysis and board preparation , monthly reconciliations between donor fundraising software (Pac Fund & Ticketing) and accounting software - In collaboration with the SVP of Finance, lead the annual budget process, including preparation, entry, and quarterly review of actuals to budget for all departments
- Provide leadership and oversight to the Manager of Accounting and Accounting Intern by ensuring performance and activities are consistent with established goals, objectives and policies
- Mentor, coach, oversee, and direct work of subordinate staff
- Accounts payable processes
- Daily financial transactions, including the recording of cash receipts and contribution distributions
- Preparation and timely filing of 1099s for contract labor
- Perform daily financial transactions including ticketing receipts, month end journal entries, recording and tracking of pre-paid expenses, and month end close processes
- Oversee and review bank accounts daily to ensure proper accounting of deposits and manage cash balances between accounts per policy
- Maintain fixed asset module and depreciation schedules
- Manage and perform monthly bank account reconciliations
- Reconcile financial discrepancies in clearing accounts by collecting and analyzing account information
- Coordinate and serve as the primary liaison to insurance broker and ensure timely execution of business insurance renewals
- Oversee and review semi-monthly payroll, including review of non-exempt employees’ hours, payroll deductions, and fringe benefits
- In Human Resources absence, perform payroll processing duties
- Manage pool car use and maintenance; maintain records on all Foundation vehicles and manage vehicle trade and leasing processes
- Manage corporate credit cards, employee mileage, and expense reports for all staff
- Manage and ensure staff adhere to vendor contract signature authorization and estimation of event cost policies and procedures
- Serve as liaison to Foundation staff with auto insurance cards and auto registration renewals
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the accounting or finance field
- Proficient in all applications of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Fund Accounting is preferred
- Ability to commit to a structured weekly schedule and willingness to be flexible based on occasional projects or events requiring weekend, holiday, and evening hours
